St. James's Place appoints Paul Manduca to succeed Iain Cornish as Chair

 

 

St. James's Place plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Manduca to succeed Iain Cornish as Chair at the conclusion of the Company's 2021 Annual General Meeting (subject to regulatory approval). Paul Manduca will join the Board as a Non-executive Director and Chair designate on 1 January 2021.

 

Iain Cornish joined the Board of St. James's Place in 2011 and became Chair in 2018. He will step down as a Director at the 2021 AGM.

 

Paul Manduca is currently Chairman of Prudential plc, a position he has held since July 2012, having joined the Board as Senior Independent Director in October 2010. He is due to step down from Prudential plc on 31 December 2020.

 

Prior to Prudential plc, Paul held a number of senior leadership roles in business and financial services. He was the founding CEO of Threadneedle Asset Management Limited, Global CEO of Rothschild Asset Management and European CEO of Deutsche Asset Management. He has served as Senior Independent Director of Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, Chairman of Henderson Diversified Income Limited and a Non-executive Director of KazMunaiGas Exploration & Production. He is currently Chairman of Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust.

About Paul Manduca

Paul is currently Chairman of Prudential plc, a position he has held since July 2012, having joined the Board as Senior Independent Director in October 2010. He is due to step down from Prudential plc on 31 December 2020.

 

He has served as chairman of the Association of Investment Companies (1991 to 1993), founding CEO of Threadneedle Asset Management Limited (1994 to 1999), global CEO of Rothschild Asset Management (1999 to 2002), and director of Eagle Star and Allied Dunbar, as well as holding the offices of European CEO of Deutsche Asset Management (2002 to 2005), chairman of Bridgewell Group plc and a director of Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc.

 

Other previous appointments include the chairmanship of Aon UK Limited and JPM European Smaller Companies Investment Trust Plc. From September 2005 until March 2011, Paul was a non-executive director of Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, including as senior independent director, audit committee chairman and remuneration committee chairman. He was a non-executive director and audit committee chairman of KazMunaiGas Exploration & Production until the end of September 2012 and chairman of Henderson Diversified Income Limited until July 2017.
