Australia's Starpharma hits near 2-month high on research deal with U.S. firm

** Shares of biopharma co  SPL.AX  rise as much as 9.2% to
A$1.25, their highest since Oct.8 
    ** Co signs an exploratory DEP (Dendrimer-based) research
agreement with U.S. based pharma co Genetech, a member of

    ** Adds that co's polymer-based DEP technology has already

    ** Stock posts its biggest intraday pct rise since Dec. 1 
    ** Stock down 26.8% this year as of last close, compared
with a 10.6% increase in the ASX all ordinaries index  .AORD
