Australia's Starpharma jumps on plans to develop novel radiotherapy treatment

** Shares of Starpharma Holdings SPL.AX rise as much as 13.6% to A$0.25

** Biotech firm signs research and option agreement with Radiopharm Theranostics RAD.AX to develop novel radiotherapy asset

** Starpharma to develop and manufacture a dendrimer-drug conjugate, which is nanoparticle drug-carrier, using RAD's radiopharmaceutical molecule

** SPL to receive research and development and manufacturing fees for this phase, A$2 million ($1.32 million) upfront, and up to A$89 million in success-based milestones, and royalties on net sales

** Radiopharm shares were unchanged from the previous closing level

** About 2 mln shares changed hands, 1.5 times the 30-day avg

** Starpharma marks fourth consecutive month of gains; up 127.3% YTD

($1 = 1.5145 Australian dollars)
