Oct 29 (Reuters) - ** India's metal sub-index .NIFTYMET rises 1.9% to a record high of 10,797.70 points

** Set for sixth consecutive session of gains

** U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping to finalize a trade framework on Thursday, rare earths in focus MET/L

** Steel Authority of India SAIL.NS leads gains, up 6.6%; scheduled to report quarterly earnings later in the day

** Adani Enterprises ADEL.NS, Hindustan Copper HCPR.NS and Hindustan Zinc HZNC.NS rise between 2.5% and 3%

** Markets expect U.S. Federal Reserve to announce a 25-basis-point rate cut on Wednesday

** YTD, sub-index up 21.4% vs benchmark Nifty 50's .NSEI 10% rise
