** Shares of steelmakers, aluminum manufacturers fall after report that U.S. President Donald Trump's plans to scale back some tariffs on steel and aluminum goods

** Nucor NUE.N down 2.3%, Steel Dynamics STLD.N slumps 3.3% and Cleveland-Cliffs CLF.N declines 2.7%

** Century Aluminum shares fall 6.5%, Alcoa down 1%

** Financial Times reported that the Trump administration is reviewing a list of products affected by the levies and plans to exempt some items, halt the expansion of lists and instead launch more targeted national security probes into specific goods

** Including session loss, Dow Jones U.S. Industrial Metals and Mining index .DJUSIM rose over 15% YTD
