** The U.S. steel manufacturer forecasts Q2 earnings of $3.51 to $3.55 per share
** Says Q2 earnings include a $16 million hit from asset write-downs tied to moving a planned aluminum recycled slab center from Arizona to Columbus, Mississippi
** Adds that steel fabrication earnings are expected to be slightly below Q1, as higher steel input costs offset stronger shipments and steady pricing
** Fabrication order backlog is ~40% higher than a year earlier and extends into 2027 - STLD
** As of last close, STLD up 59.4% YTD
