** Shares of electronics products maker Structural
Monitoring Systems PLC  SMN.AX  fall as much as 7% to A$0.400,
seeing their worst day since Sept. 7 if losses hold
    ** Co raises A$1.7 mln ($1.15 mln) at an issue price of
A$0.35 per share, an 18.6% discount to the stock's last closing

    ** About 232,300 shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average of 73,653 shares 
    ** Stock down 31% this year, as of last close
