Softs: Arabica coffee falls amid further signs of growing Brazil supplies

SOFTS-Arabica coffee falls amid further signs of growing Brazil supplies

Updates prices, adds details

- Arabica coffee futures on the ICE exchange fell on Tuesday, reversing the prior session's technically driven gains as further signs emerged of growing supplies from top producer Brazil.

COFFEE

* Arabica coffee KCc1 fell 2.2% lower to $2.8245 per lb at 1252 GMT, after closing up 3.6% on Monday.

* Brazil's coffee exports are on track to set a record in September, with shipments to date 34% higher than a year ago.

* Brazil is wrapping up what is set to be a record 2026 coffee harvest, which is putting coffee under pressure overall.

* However quality concerns mean actual availability might disappoint, while technical signals are also prompting some selling.

* Robusta coffee LRCc1 slipped 0.9% to $3,382 a metric ton.

COCOA

* London cocoa LCCc1 fell 2.8% to £4,059 pounds per ton, having closed down 0.7% on Monday.

* Heatwaves in Europe this summer and higher chocolate prices dented demand, Lindt & Spruengli LISN.S said as it cut its 2026 sales forecast for a second time this year.

* Against that however, rains in top growers Ivory Coast and Ghana remain light, raising concerns about the upcoming main crop.

* New York cocoa CCc1 fell 2.8% to $5,637 a ton.

SUGAR

* Raw sugar SBc1 rose 1.2% to 17.68 cents per lb, having closed down 0.2% on Monday.

* Top grower Brazil's sugar exports have slipped 9.3% so far in September, Trade Ministry data showed. Brazil's 2026 sugar harvest is projected to fall due to excessive rains and higher ethanol production.

* EU crop monitoring service MARS has cut its 2026 sugar beet yield forecast by 17%, saying rainfall came too late to reverse damage from this summer's heat and drought.

* White sugar LSUc1 rose 1% to $509.10 a ton.
