U.S. stock index futures edged higher on Friday on optimism that a deal to avoid
a catastrophic U.S. debt default could be reached over the weekend.  .N 
    
    At 7:32 ET, Dow e-minis  1YMc1  were up 0.21% at 33,688. S&P 500 e-minis
 ESc1  were up 0.25% at 4,222.5, while Nasdaq 100 e-minis  NQc1  were up 0.13%
at 13,911.5.
