Solar firm SunPower files for bankruptcy protection in US

Aug 5 (Reuters) - Solar firm SunPower SPWR.O filed for
Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the United States, the company said on
Monday.
SunPower also entered into an asset purchase agreement with
Complete Solaria CSLR.O , which will acquire the firm's assets
and assume certain related liabilities for $45 million in cash,
the company added.
