Wall Street's main indexes were mixed in choppy trading on Tuesday as investors
scrutinized big-ticket earnings and awaited commentary from policymakers for
clues on the timing of the Federal Reserve's first interest-rate cut. .N

38,487.96. The S&P 500 .SPX was up 0.10% at 4,947.74 and the Nasdaq Composite
.IXIC was down 0.21% at 15,565.424.
