Wall Street's main indexes took a pause on Thursday following strong gains in
the previous session, helped by a batch of bumper earnings from major banks,
while investors assessed data to gauge the outlook for interest rate cuts this
year. .N 
    
At  10:30 EST, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.23% at
43,120.23. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.12% at 5,942.86, and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 0.28% at 19,456.04.
