WARSAW, April 9 - The following are news stories, press

    CENTRAL BANK
    Poland's central bank governor holds a press conference at
1300 GMT. 
    
    ELECTRIC CARS
    Polish Climate Minister Michal Kurtyka approved the start of
construction this year of a Polish electric cars factory in
Jaworzno, a town in the southern coal region, for 4-5 billion
zlotys, Puls Biznesu daily said quoting the minister. 
    
    BIOMED LUBLIN
    Polish biotech company Biomed Lublin plans to raise 40
million zlotys from a new share issue, Parkiet daily said
quoting the company representatives. 
    
    M&A
    The number of mergers and acquisitions in Poland rose to 76
in the first quarter and was by 52% higher than the average from
the last 5 years, Parkiet daily said citing Fordata and
Navigator report. 
    
    PKN ORLEN  PKN.WA 
    Polish state-run oil refiner PKN Orlen plans to complete the
takeovers of smaller rival Lotos  LTSP.WA  and gas company PGNiG
 PGN.WA  this year, Nasz Dziennik daily said quoting PKN CEO. 
    
    SWISS FRANC MORTGAGES
    The Supreme Court meeting during which judges are expected
to issue guidelines on Swiss franc mortgages is likely to be
postponed again from April 13, Rzeczpospolita daily said quoting
unnamed sources.
    
    CO2 EMISSIONS
    Three Polish coal-fuelled power plants are among the ten
biggest carbon emitters in the European Union, with PGE's
Belchatow being the biggest one, Gazeta Wyborcza daily said
citing Ember think tank data.
