UK's Synthomer tops FTSE small caps index after FY outlook upgrade

** Polymer maker Synthomer's SYNTS.L shares up 22.2% at 108.8 pence; top gainer on FTSE small caps .FTSC index, which is up 0.41%
** Co upgrades full-year 2026 outlook to slightly ahead of market expectations of company-compiled FY 2026 EBITDA consensus of £162 million ($217.65 million)
** SYNTS posts H1 adjusted profit before tax of £12.7 million vs £1.3 million a year ago
** YTD, co's stock up about 41% while FTSC is up 7%
