Helios Hybrid Order
Starcom (AIM: STAR), which specialises in the development of wireless solutions for the remote tracking, monitoring and protection of a variety of assets and people, is pleased to announce that it has executed its delivery for a new contact with a major international organisation, as announced in the Company's interim results (21 August), for its Helios Hybrid tracking system, following an international tender against a number of competitors.
The order comprises 100 units which have been shipped to the customer with a total value of $91,000, which includes a portion of monthly maintenance fees, paid in advance. Any further orders with this customer are likely to be the result of a similar tender process, and the Company would expect to participate against the same competitors.
The Helios Hybrid is a new addition to the Helios range of tracking devices and has the added advantage of satellite coverage in areas where GPS is either not available or not appropriate, and this was one of the key reasons for Starcom winning the tender. Although this order is relatively small it demonstrates the competitive advantage of the product against international competition.It is hoped that with this success the Company can gain further orders for the product in the near future.
