      Tate & Lyle PLC (the Company) has been informed that today Sir Peter       Gershon, the Chairman of the Company, purchased a total of 10,000       ordinary shares of 25 pence each in the capital of the Company       (Shares) at a price of 532.00 pence per Share. Sir Peter Gershon now       holds an interest in a total of 149,279 Shares in the Company.    
      The transaction took place in London.    
      This notification is made in accordance with DTR 3.1.4R(1)(a) of the       FCAs Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
