      Notification of transaction by Person Discharging Managerial       Responsibilities    
      Tate & Lyle PLC (the Company) has been informed that Jeanne Johns, a       Non-Executive Director of the Company, acquired an interest in 4,000       ordinary 25p shares in the capital of the Company (Shares) by means of       the purchase of 1,000 American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) (one ADR       being equivalent to four Shares) on the New York Stock Exchange at a       price of 696.34 pence per share (being the equivalent of US$35.80 per       ADR using an exchange rate of 1.2853). Ms Johns had not previously held       any shares in the Company.    
      The notification below, which has been made in accordance with the       requirements of the EU Market Abuse Regulation, provides further detail.
