Russian Tatneft's TANECO oil refinery halts operations after drone attack, sources say June 15 (Reuters) - Russia's TANECO oil refinery has completely suspended crude processing since June 12 following a drone attack, two industry sources told Reuters.
The sources said the strike and subsequent fires at the facility led to the shutdown of both primary processing units at the plant: CDU-6, with a capacity of 20,000 tons per day, accounting for 45% of the refinery's total capacity, and CDU-7, which processes over 23,000 tons per day.
Tatneft, which owns the refinery, did not respond to a Reuters request for comment.
TANECO is one of Russia's most technologically advanced refineries, equipped with hydrocracking, catalytic cracking, and delayed coking units.
According to industry data, TANECO processed 17.0 million tons of crude oil in 2024, producing 2.7 million tons of motor gasoline, 8.5 million tons of diesel fuel, and 1.3 million tons of petroleum coke.
