Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) consults on proposed commitments to
close investigation into housebuilders

In February 2024, the UK Competition and Markets Authority ("CMA") launched an
investigation into the conduct of seven UK housebuilders between January 2022
and February 2024.

The CMA has today announced its intention to close its investigation by
accepting voluntary commitments from all parties involved in the
investigation, and has invited representations from interested third parties.

The CMA has not made any infringement finding against Taylor Wimpey or any of
the housebuilders subject to investigation, and the voluntary commitments
offered do not constitute an admission of any wrongdoing.

The voluntary commitments include: (i) agreeing not to share certain
categories of information with housebuilders; (ii) supporting the Home
Builders Federation and Homes for Scotland to develop and publish
industry-wide guidance on information exchange; and (iii) a combined financial
contribution by the seven housebuilders of £100 million to the Government's
Affordable Homes Programme. Taylor Wimpey's share of the combined financial
contribution will be a payment of £15.84 million. The payment will be made
within three months of the date on which the Parties receive formal
notification of the CMA's acceptance of the commitments, and will be treated
as an exceptional item within the half year results.

The CMA's consultation will close on 24 July 2025. The CMA will then make a
final decision on whether to accept the commitments offered.

Taylor Wimpey welcomes the CMA's intention to conclude its investigation by
accepting voluntary commitments. We will continue to work constructively with
the CMA as they conclude the process.
