Wall Street's main indexes were sharply higher on Thursday as
better-than-expected domestic and Chinese data as well as a
firming yuan offered some relief to investors alarmed by a week
of blow and counterblow between Beijing and Washington over
trade. .N 
    At 1336 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up
1.20% at 26,319.71. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 1.59% at 2,929.81
and the Nasdaq Composite  .IXIC  was up 1.86% at 8,008.868.
