POLITICS
The president of Italy's general practitioners association
called on Sunday for a national lockdown in light of recent
COVID-19 data, with particular regard to hospital admissions and
patients admitted to intensive care.
ECONOMY
Italy has approved a new aid package to cushion the blow on
the economy from restrictions it introduced this week in an
effort to stem a resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Economy Minister Roberto Gualtieri said in a Facebook post
on Saturday the measures were worth more than 2.8 billion euros.
Troubled Italian carrier Alitalia has reached an agreement

Moody's on Friday affirmed Italy's 'Baa3' rating with a
stable outlook citing an expected eventual rebound in the
economy and support provided by the ECB and the EU. Italy's
budget deficit should fall in coming years, driving a gradual
reduction in public debt, thanks to recovering growth combined
with the temporary nature of many of this year's emergency

Treasury starts offer of second edition 8-year 'BTP Futura'

Treasury announces sale of BTP bonds, with relative amounts
to be auctioned on Nov. 12.

euros in 12-month BOT bills at auction on Wednesday.

An accord with Italy's infrastructure ministry over a new
economic plan for motorway unit Autostrade per l'Italia could
see the planned road toll increase being reduced to 1.67-1.68%,
from the 1.75% level discussed so far, Il Sole 24 Ore reported
on Saturday. This would entail lower revenues for 1.0-1.5
billion euros over the period through 2038 reducing Autostrade's
equity value by 800-850 million euros, the paper said.

The Italian drinks group said on Friday checks conducted
after a hacking attack showed data on some of the company's
servers had been encrypted and some information had been

from Brazil's competition watchdog for their planned $38 billion

Fitch Ratings on Friday said it had affirmed the Italian
asset manager's long-term rating at 'BBB-' and removed it from
'watch negative' because it did not expect Azimut to breach
downgrade triggers in the short term though the pandemic had

Italy is readying measures that could temporarily prevent
France's Vivendi VIV.PA from strengthening its position in the

An Italian parliamentary committee for security in a report
on Friday flagged risks for the country's financial sector
deriving from the growing presence of French investors in
Italian banks and insurers. The COPASIR security committee
warned in particular against a potential takeover of Generali
GASI.MI by France's AXA AXAF.PA and the possibility
UniCredit CRDI.MI may pursue a cross-border merger.

The bank may invoke a "change of control" clause in relation
to its bancassurance joint-venture with Cattolica CASS.MI
following Generali's investment GASI.MI in the latter, Il Sole
24 Ore reported, adding the cause would imply a lower valuation
for the JV were it to be dissolved.

U.S. businessman Dan Friedkin's investment vehicle Romulus
and Remus Investments said on Friday shares equivalent to 0.2%
of the Italian Serie A soccer club's capital had been tendered
in a buyout offer, bringing its stake in AS Roma to 86.8% and
