RPT-Teck says strike begins at Highland Valley Copper mine in British Columbia, Canada Repeats to more subscribers, no changes
Oct 24 (Reuters) - Teck Resources TECKb.TO said on Saturday workers had started a strike at its Highland Valley Copper mine in British Columbia, with operations were continuing at reduced capacity.
The impact on overall production would depend on the duration of the labour action, the miner said, adding that contingency plans were in place. The United Steelworkers of Canada website says the union represents about 1,200 workers at the mine.
