Wall Street's main stock indexes fell over 1% on Thursday, bogged down by
megacap tech and chip stocks, while small-caps bore the brunt of selling
pressure as weak manufacturing data renewed concerns around a slowdown in the
U.S. economy. 
    
    At 15:40 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 1.27% at
40,324.42. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.99% at 5,467.37 and the Nasdaq
Composite  .IXIC  was down 1.47% at 17,340.546.
