Italy's Poste raises 2026 outlook after earnings top forecasts

MILAN, May 7 (Reuters) - Italian financial conglomerate Poste Italiane PST.MI raised its outlook for the year on Thursday after reporting better-than-expected first-quarter earnings.

Poste, which has businesses spanning from mail and parcels to financial, energy and mobile services, added its buyout offer for phone monopoly Telecom Italia TLIT.MI was on track.

Poste will present a new strategic plan on July 24.

In the three months to March 31, earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) adjusted to exclude extraordinary items came in at 905 million euros, up 14% year-on-year and above a company-provided analyst consensus of 861 million euros.

Poste said it now expects its full-year adjusted EBIT at 3.4 billion euros, above 3.3 billion euros previously.
