POLITICS

Italy's ruling parties have agreed on a sweeping overhaul of the electoral law, two sources said on Thursday, a move opposition parties say is designed to help Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stay in power after elections due in 2027.

ECONOMY

ISTAT releases December industry sales data (0900 GMT) and January non-EU foreign trade data (1000 GMT).

DEBT

Treasury announces minimum guaranteed rates for six-year  'BTP Valore' bonds for the retail market, to be auctioned on March 2-6.

COMPANIES

BANCA MONTE DEI PASCHI DI SIENA BMPS.MI

(*) The Tuscan bank said on Friday it would complete the merger with Mediobanca MDBI.MI by the end of the year and aim to reach a profit of 3.7 billion euros ($4.4 billion) for the combined group in 2030.

ENI ENI.MI

Venezuela can now pay for gas received from the Italian major with oil thanks to a recent easing of U.S. sanctions, unlocking a situation that had left the Latin American country with a large debt to the Italian firm, Eni's CEO said on Thursday.

STELLANTIS STLAM.MI

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Thursday closed a long-running probe into nearly 7.4 million U.S. vehicles built by the Chrysler-parent over inadvertent deployments of active head rests without seeking a recall.

(*) Antonio Filosa, who took over as CEO of the Jeep-to-Peugeot automaker in June 2025, received 5.4 million euros in total compensation last year, the company said on Thursday.

Alpha Bank ACBr.AT  Greece's fourth-largest lender by market value, in which UniCredit holds a 29.5% stake, reported on Friday higher net earnings for 2025, backed by strong fee income and credit expansion.

TERNA TRN.MI

The Italian power grid operator has reached an agreement for the sale of 100% of its electricity transmission activities in Peru. The value of the transaction is approximately $15 million.

BANCO BPM BAMI.MI

The outgoing board will submit its own slate of candidates for the renewal of the board in April, a spokesperson said, adding that the names would be formalised next week, after a review by the nominations committee.

A source familiar with the process said the board was expected to meet again on Tuesday, with the deadline for filing the slate set for March 6, 40 days before the shareholders’ meeting.
