Italy on Wednesday pushed back against remarks by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that hundreds of U.S. aircraft had taken off from American bases in Italy to support military operations against Iran, saying Rome had authorised only technical and logistical flights.

The telecoms group has filed a complaint with a Milan court against new landline grid tariffs set by KKR-backed FiberCop which bought TIM's grid network in 2024, two sources said on Wednesday.

The grid operator and Tunisian electricity and gas operator STEG said on Wednesday they had awarded Hitachi Energy a contract worth about €770 million to build converter stations for the Elmed Italy-Tunisia power link project.

BANCA SISTEMA BSTA.MI
The boards of Elliot-backed speciality lender Banca CF+ and of Banca Sistema, an Italy-based commercial bank subject to a takeover, approved on Wednesday the plan for the merger by absorption of Banca CF+ into Banca Sistema. Following the merger, Banca Sistema will remain listed on Euronext Milan, the two companies said.
