The following factors could affect Italian markets on Thursday.

POLITICS
Italy on Wednesday pushed back against remarks by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that hundreds of U.S. aircraft had taken off from American bases in Italy to support military operations against Iran, saying Rome had authorised only technical and logistical flights.

ECONOMY
Istat releases April industry and services turnover data (0800 GMT).

DEBT
Treasury offers €6 billion of BOT bonds.

COMPANIES
(*) BANCO BPM BAMI.MI 
Credit Agricole CAGR.PA has built a position of 29.9% in Banco BPM through derivatives from a previous 22.9%, Italian news agency Adnkronos reported on Wednesday citing financial sources.

(*) UNICREDIT CRDI.MI
Germany's Commerzbank CBKG.DE said on Thursday that institutional investors have tendered just more than 1% of shares in UniCredit's takeover offer, leaving the German bank's structure largely unchanged.

(*) STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
A group representing major automakers, which includes the Franco-Italian carmaker, warned on Tuesday that car companies may be forced to halt sales of both new and used vehicles in California on July 1 unless the state delays vehicle technology rules that aim to prevent perpetrators of domestic violence from tracking survivors.

TELECOM ITALIA (TIM) TLIT.MI
The telecoms group has filed a complaint with a Milan court against new landline grid tariffs set by KKR-backed FiberCop which bought TIM's grid network in 2024, two sources said on Wednesday.

TERNA TRN.MI 
The grid operator and Tunisian electricity and gas operator STEG said on Wednesday they had awarded Hitachi Energy a contract worth about €770 million to build converter stations for the Elmed Italy-Tunisia power link project.

PIRELLI PIRC.MI 
Shareholders meet on Thursday to elect a new board. 

BANCA SISTEMA BSTA.MI 
The boards of Elliot-backed speciality lender Banca CF+ and of Banca Sistema, an Italy-based commercial bank subject to a takeover, approved on Wednesday the plan for the merger by absorption of Banca CF+ into Banca Sistema. Following the merger, Banca Sistema will remain listed on Euronext Milan, the two companies said. 

(*) FASHION
A Milan prosecutor's crusading labour investigations have forced companies to grant fuller employment rights to more than 60,000 workers and recouped more than €1 billion ($1.1 billion) in unpaid taxes, but also sparked a heated debate over whether the judiciary in Italy is overstepping its role.
