Italy's beleaguered Tourism Minister Daniela Santanche resigned on Wednesday, belatedly obeying a call to go from Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni who is trying to reset her government after a bruising referendum defeat.
ECONOMY
ISTAT releases March consumer and business confidence data (0900 GMT).
(*) The rise in energy prices due to the crisis in the Middle East "increases uncertainty about growth prospects, with more pronounced downside risks in the event of a continuation and worsening of the conflict", the Treasury said late on Wednesday.

Italy's third-largest bank said on Wednesday its directors had decided to strip Chief Executive Luigi Lovaglio of his powers, after he bid for a new term at the helm challenging a decision by the board to rule him out.
ENERGY
Italy hopes to receive more gas from Algeria after agreeing to strengthen energy cooperation with the north African nation, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on a visit to Algiers.

Governance firm Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) has advised the bank's shareholders to vote against the Italian bank's 2025 remuneration report at its March 31 general meeting, a document seen by Reuters showed.

The Franco-Italian automaker has been forced to scale down production in some of its European plants, especially in France, due to supply shortages of gearboxes for mild hybrid models, MF newspaper reported on Thursday, citing sources close to the matter. It said the historic Peugeot factory in Sochaux had lost production of more than 10,000 cars in March.

German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 PSMGn.DE, controlled by MFE, reported a 28% fall in its adjusted 2025 core profit on Thursday, as it continues to struggle with low advertising revenues and uncertainty in its home market of Germany.

The Italian payments company said on Wednesday its board had appointed Bernardo Mingrone as CEO and General Manager, succeeding Paolo Bertoluzzo. Mingrone was previously deputy general manager and CEO of the Nexi Payments unit.

FINCANTIERI FCT.MI
The state-controlled company is scouting the market for M&A deals aimed at speeding up its expansion in the fast growing underwater business, the head of the Italian shipbuilder said on Wednesday.
It reported a more than fourfold jump in its annual profit to 117 million euros ($136 million), boosted by the underwater sector that saw 88% revenue growth.
