Transaction in own shares

Tesco PLC (the "Company") announces that on 12 August 2022 it has purchased,
in accordance with the authority granted by shareholders at the 2022 Annual
General Meeting of the Company, the following number of ordinary shares of 6
1/3 pence pursuant to its previously announced up to £750 million share
buyback programme.

The purchased shares will be cancelled.

 Average price paid per Share (pence):  263.0000p
 Highest price paid per Share (pence):  263.0000p

Following the purchase of these shares, the remaining number of ordinary
shares in issue will be 7,489,539,049. The Company does not hold any ordinary
shares in Treasury.

The figure of 7,489,539,049 may be used by shareholders (and others with
notification obligations) as the denominator for the calculations by which
they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a
change to their interest in, the Company under the Disclosure and Transparency
Rules.

In accordance with Article 5(1)(b) of Regulation (EU) No 596/2014 as it
