Tesla energy executive Snyder steps down, WSJ reports
Tesla energy executive Snyder steps down, WSJ reports Oct 15 (Reuters) - Tesla's TSLA.O top energy executive, Mike Snyder, has stepped down as vice president of energy and charging, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.
AJ Booth, senior director of energy products engineering, will succeed Snyder, according to the report
Tesla did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment. Reuters could not independently verify the report
Snyder joined Tesla in 2014, rose to run its Megapack industrial battery division, and was promoted to vice president in 2024 after a company-wide restructuring led to the exit of several top executives, including longtime energy chief Drew Baglino
Tesla's energy business grew 9.6% in the third quarter, measured by battery energy deployed, the company said earlier this month. Energy made up about 11% of total revenue in the first half of the year, while electric vehicles made up 70%
Tesla is expanding sales of industrial-scale batteries to support data centers, alongside products for renewable energy on the grid and in homes, and has a proposed plan to build a $10 billion solar factory in Texas
