Adds background, details on hydrogen projects
FRANKFURT, Dec 17 (Reuters) - German electrolysis equipment maker Thyssenkrupp Nucera NCH2.DE expects order intake of between 350 million and 900 million euros ($411 million to $1.1 billion) in its current financial year, it said on Wednesday.
This compares with order intake of 348 million euros in the past fiscal year, reflecting a more upbeat outlook despite regulatory headwinds in the green hydrogen sector that the company supplies.
The group singled out its chlor-alkali business as one of the main drivers for this, which will help balance out an expected operating loss at the green hydrogen division.
Thyssenkrupp Nucera, which is majority-owned by Thyssenkrupp TKAG.DE, had pre-released most of its annual results last month, saying investors had become more hesitant with regard to green hydrogen investments.
As a result, Thyssenkrupp Nucera has lowered the number of actively pursued green hydrogen projects to 39 with a total volume of around 9 billion euros at the end of September, down from around 11 billion at the end of June.
