May 13 (Reuters) - Cepsa CPF.GQ has picked
Thyssenkrupp Nucera NCH2.DE as the preferred supplier of a
300-megawatt electrolyser for its green hydrogen plant in
southern Spain, the oil company said on Wednesday at the World
Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam.
Thyssenkrupp Nucera will contribute to the design and
engineering of the alkaline water electrolysis technology until
a final investment decision is reached, the Spanish company
added.
The plant will use 15 of the German company's standardised
scalum electrolyser modules, each with a capacity of 20 MW.
It represents the initial phase of the planned Andalusian
Green Hydrogen Valley in the southern Spanish province of
Huelva. The project is set to be Europe's largest green hydrogen
hub with an expected annual production of up to 47,000 metric
tons.
