May 15 (Reuters) - Tikehau Capital TKOO.PA has appointed Xavier Musca as chairman of its supervisory board, the French asset management and investment firm said on Thursday.

Musca served as CEO of Crédit Agricole CAGR.PA Corporate and Investment Bank and was previously the Director of the French Treasury and Secretary General of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

"His experience, strategic vision and deep understanding of economic and financial issues will be invaluable in supporting the next phases of Tikehau Capital's growth," the group's co-founders Antoine Flamarion and Mathieu Chabran said.

Musca succeeds Christian de Labriffe, who will remain a special adviser of the group, Tikehau Capital said in a statement.
