Oct 30 (Reuters) - Basf SE  BASFn.DE  
    * Says BASF and Toda Kogyo Corp agree to form a joint 
venture for cathode active materials in Japan 
    * Says BASF will acquire a 66% ownership stake in the new 
venture, with Toda Kogyo holding a 34% ownership stake. 
    * Says  basf and toda kogyo to combine cam businesses, 
intellectual property and production assets in japan in the 
joint venture 
    * Says closing of the jv agreement, launch of operations for 
the new company expected to take place by the end of february 
2015 
    * Says jv to have annual combined production capacity for 
cathode active materials and precursors of about 18,000 metric 
tons
