Wall Street's main indexes dipped on Monday, retreating from gains made in the previous session after U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell hinted that an interest-rate cut could be considered at next month's central bank meeting. .N

At  13:30 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 0.53% at 45,388.32. The S&P 500 .SPX was down 0.10% at 6,460.38, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 0.19% at 21,537.30.
