Wall Street's main indexes dipped on Monday, retreating from gains made in the previous session after U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell hinted that an interest rate cut could be considered at next month's central bank meeting. .N

At  11:30 EDT, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 0.40% at 45,447.13. The S&P 500 .SPX was down 0.05% at 6,463.68, and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was up 0.28% at 21,559.35.
