TotalEnergies: safety of Gabon employees and operations is 'main priority' (updated)

(Adds detail)
PARIS, Aug 30 (Reuters) - French oil giant TotalEnergies
TTEF.PA said on Wednesday that it was mobilised to ensure the
safety of its employees and operations in Gabon, which it said
was "its main priority".
A group of senior military officers in Gabon claimed they
had seized power in the early hours of Wednesday, minutes after
the Central African state's election body announced that
President Ali Bongo had won a third term.
TotalEnergies said it has 350 staff in Gabon and is the
country's main distributor of petroleum products with 45 petrol
stations. Gabon also accounted for 0.6% of the company's oil and
gas output in 2022.

The group did not immediately respond to a question on
whether the coup could potentially have an impact on its
operations.
