Totally PLC
23 July 2014
Totally Plc
("Totally" or "the Company")
Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group
Additional Clinical Health Coaching Programme
The board of Totally (AIM : TLY) announces that its wholly owned subsidiary
Totally Health Limited ("Totally Health") has secured an agreement to provide
additional services to Leicester City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) as
part of its long standing contract to provide Clinical Health Coaching
services to patients diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
(COPD).
This new service is in addition to the Intensive COPD Clinical Health Coaching
Programme, which Totally Health already provides to Leicester City CCG, and
provides a 'step down' programme for those patients who have successfully met
all of their personal goals and are now able to better self manage their
condition and avoid exacerbations.
The service will allow patients to remain supported by their named Clinical
Health Coach whilst they prepare for discharge from the service in the coming
months and, at the same time, provides capacity for Leicester City CCG to
recruit new patients onto the intensive TotalCare Programme so that they
benefit from the services provided.
Expected additional revenues from this service are expected to be in the order
of £32,000 (exc VAT) over an eight month period.
Wendy Lawrence, CEO of Totally, said:
"Totally Health is proud of the achievements to date with Leicester City CCG
and look forward to working with them on this new service which will ensure
that patients are really able to self manage their condition and continue the
excellent results already delivered for the programme.
"Our team of Clinical Health Coaches very much looks forward to welcoming new
patients onto the programme which they know makes a real difference to the way
they live their lives and their ability to understand their condition.
"During the first 12 months of the original programme, total savings were
identified by Leicester City CCG amounting to in excess of £700,000 from
averted admissions."
Emma Jane Roberts, Head of Implementation at Leicester City CCG, explains:
"We are very pleased with how the service has worked to date which has
resulted in patients being able to avoid exacerbations with their condition,
reach their own personal goals towards self managing their condition and, of
course, to reduce the occasions where they have had to attend A&E or be
admitted to hospital.
"This service has not only reduced the pressure and demand on local services
but in addition the patients on the programme are now able to better self
manage their conditions and know who to turn to should they need support or
advice. By working with their named health coach, they are more empowered to
make decisions about their own care and know when they need to ask for help."
"Patient feedback from the Programme has been extremely positive which was
very important for the CCG when they commissioned the service. With the
provision of the new step down programme we can ensure that patients continue
to be supported appropriately by their personal named health coach but also
this allows us to recruit more new patients onto the intensive programme so
that they too benefit from the services."
