Wall Street's main indexes struggled for direction on Wednesday as investors
kept to the sidelines ahead of AI chip leader Nvidia's quarterly results and
minutes of the Federal Reserve's policy meeting, due later in the day.  .N 
    
    At 13:42 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was down 0.31% at
39,748.7. The S&P 500  .SPX  was down 0.19% at 5,311.4 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was down 0.19% at 16,801.388.
