July 25 (Reuters) - Volkswagen’s truck unit Traton (8TRA.DE) reported a slight increase in orders for the first half of the year on Friday, driven primarily by demand for replacement vehicles in Europe.
Incoming orders rose by 11% to 139,600 vehicles in the first first half of 2025, compared with 125,400 vehicles the same period a year ago.
This came despite weakening momentum in Brazil and continued caution among North American truck buyers, the German truck maker said in a statement.
Traton (8TRA.DE) trimmed its full-year guidance late Thursday, now expecting unit sales and revenue to decline by up to 10%, compared to its previous forecast of a 5% drop to 5% growth. The company also revised its adjusted operating return on sales to a range of 6% to 7%, down from the earlier projection of 7.5% to 8.5%.
