The tech-heavy Nasdaq led Wall Street's main indexes higher with gains of more
than 2% on Wednesday as upbeat quarterly reports from Microsoft and Alphabet
lifted sentiment ahead of a key U.S. interest rate decision later in the day.

31,909.77. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 1.29% at 3,971.62 and the Nasdaq Composite
