UK homebuilders fall after Taylor Wimpey flags rising build costs

** British homebuilders index .FTNMX402020 falls 2.3% after prominent builder Taylor Wimpey TW.L raises its 2026 build cost inflation outlook due to Middle East conflict pressures

** TW is the biggest loser in the sub-index after falling more than 4%; co expects inflation in build costs to be in the low to mid-single digits in 2026, compared to earlier expectation of low-single digits

** Sub-index heavyweights by market capitalisation Barratt Redrow BTRW.L and Persimmon PSN.L fall 0.7% and 1.75%, respectively

** Other constituents Berkeley BKGH.L, Vistry VTYV.L and Bellway BWY.L are all down 1% to 2%

** YTD, sub-index down 26.7%
