BioPharmX: Gains on patent win

** Shares of BioPharmX  BPMX.A  up 9.36 pct to $0.29 at
14:51 GMT, gaining for the first time in six sessions
    ** Earlier, BPMX rose 24.2 pct to a high of $0.33 and is now
trading above its 50-, 150- and 200-day moving averages
    ** The dermatology products maker says the U.S. PTO grants
it a patent for a topical gel delivery system that allows for
greater bioavailability of an active pharmaceutical ingredient
    ** The Menlo Park, California-based company says the patent
is the second granted to BioPharmX in 3 weeks  urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nPnbYPSdpa
    ** About 20.6 mln BPMX shares traded so far, about 102 pct
of their 30-DMA and the 7th most active U.S. stock
    ** Up to the previous session's close, the stock had surged
about 140 pct year-to-date
    ** BPMX has outperformed the S&P 500 pharma sector by 71.4
pct in the last month and the broader S&P 500 by 70.1 pct
