(Adds detail in paragraph 1, 2 and 4)
Oct 10 (Reuters) - Brookfield Asset Management BAM.TO
has agreed to buy Tritax EuroBox EBOX.L for 1.1 billion pounds
($1.44 billion), including debt, kicking off a possible takeover
battle for the European logistics real estate firm.
The cash deal with Brookfield's real estate private funds
valued each Tritax EuroBox share at 69 pence.
Tritax EuroBox, which last month agreed an all-share deal
with British warehouser Segro SGRO.L , said it planned to
withdraw its backing for the Segro offer and support the
Brookfield bid instead.
Segro's offer had valued Tritax EuroBox at about 68.4 pence
apiece.
