Erdogan says Turkey plans Emlak Katilim IPO, merger of state participation banks ANKARA, June 5 (Reuters) - President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that Turkey aims to launch a public offering for Emlak Katilim Bank and has decided to merge the participation banking units of state lenders Ziraat Bank, VakifBank and Halkbank.
Speaking at an Islamic economy event in Istanbul, Erdogan said the planned merger would combine the three state-owned participation banks, while also outlining plans for an initial public offering of another participation bank Emlak Katilim. He did not provide a timeline or further details on either move.
