Turkey - Factors To Watch on Sept 6

ANKARA, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and
events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
    The lira  TRYTOM=D3  traded at 26.80 against the dollar at
0440 GMT, slightly weakening from its closing level of 26.79 on
Tuesday.
    The main BIST 100 share index  .XU100  closed 1.16% higher
at 8,236.14 points on Tuesday.
    
    GLOBAL MARKETS
    Asia stocks fell on Wednesday after weak economic data in
China and Europe heightened concerns over global growth, while
the dollar firmed as investors weighed the outlook for U.S.
interest rates.
    
    ECONOMIC PROGRAMME
    President Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to announce Turkey's
medium-term economic programme as the government grapples with
economic challenges from soaring inflation to large budget and
current account deficits.
    
    BLACK SEA GRAIN DEAL
    President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey is in close contact
with the United Nations on reviving the Black Sea grain
initiative and he will discuss it with Secretary-General Antonio
Guterres at its general assembly this month, Turkish media
reported.
        
    EU ENLARGEMENT
    EU enlargement commissioner Oliver Varhelyi visits Ankara
for talks with Turkey's foreign minister and other ministers on
bilateral relations and cooperation in the first official visit
by an EU representative since elections in May.
    
    IRAQi OIL FLOWS
    Iraqi oil flows to Turkey are not expected to resume before
October, when Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will likely visit
Baghdad, sources said, after the trip originally scheduled for
August was postponed.    
    
    VAKIFBANK LOAN
    State lender Vakifbank  VAKBN.IS  borrowed $750 million
through a 5-year bond issue. In a statement overnight, the bank
said sustainable bonds, which will mature in October 2028, have
an annual yield of 9.125%.
    
    FLOODS IN ISTANBUL
    Floods hit northwest Turkey after heavy rainstorms and
killed at least two people in Istanbul on Tuesday.
