ANKARA, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and
events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Friday.
The lira TRYTOM=D3 traded at 26.85 against the dollar at
0411 GMT, slightly weakening from its closing level of 26.83 on
Thursday.
The main BIST 100 share index .XU100 closed 1.91% higher
at 8,337.67 points on Thursday.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Asia's stockmarkets dipped on Friday, with tech shares
tumbling on deepening Sino-U.S. tensions, while the dollar was
set to seal its longest winning streak in nine years as
investors braced for U.S. interest rates to stay higher for
longer.
MODDY'S
Moody's has signalled that Turkey's reembrace of
conventional economic policymaking since Tayyip Erdogan's May
election win could soon start paying dividends in terms of a
stronger credit rating, as long as it sticks with it.
ECONOMIC PROGRAMME
Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek said on Thursday that
Turkey's economic programme had President Tayyip Erdogan's full
support, a day after the government hiked its forecasts for
inflation and cut its economic growth outlook.
VICE PRESIDENT
Turkey's Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz will meet with
businesspeople from the northern province of Rize (1345 GMT).
