Tvardi rises as oral inflammation drug shows early-stage trial promise

** Shares of drug developer Tvardi Therapeutics TVRD.O rise 2% to $2.03 premarket
** Co says its oral experimental drug TTI-109 showed results in an early-stage study that were comparable to its earlier STAT3-targeting drug, TTI-101
** Says TTI-109 is being developed for diseases linked to inflammation and abnormal cell growth through the STAT3 protein
** Tvardi says TTI-109 reduced certain immune cells by up to 60%, a finding it believes supports further development
** Company said side effects were mild, with diarrhea lasting less than half a day versus more than three days with TTI-101
** As of last close, stock was down ~53% YTD
