UBS CEO says Swiss base remains good for economy and shareholders
UBS CEO says Swiss base remains good for economy and shareholders Oct 6 (Reuters) - UBS UBSG.S staying based in Switzerland is good for the economy and the bank's shareholders, Chief Executive Sergio Ermotti said on Tuesday, following calls from an investor to leave the country amid moves to impose tougher regulation.
"But of course we will need to consider what needs to be done in the future in order to preserve and take care of the interests of our shareholders, our clients, but also our people," Ermotti said in an interview to CNBC.
When asked about the state of capital markets he said, "things have become a little bit less enthusiastic, if I can say so, around IPOs and valuations. There is a lot of questions around how feasible it is to really go on at that pace."
