Umicore jumps after 'golden' deal to sell inventories

** Shares in Umicore UMI.BR rise around 6% to their highest price since June 2024 after the Belgian metal recycling company said it will sell its permanent gold inventories

** Umicore says the deal will generate 410 million euros  ($476.09 million) in net proceeds, with an EBITDA contribution of around 480 million euros

** Degroof Petercam says it is an "unexpected golden deal" and a smart way to unlock value

** "This transaction shows that there is value in the foundation businesses of Umicore," it says

** KBC Securities' analyst Wim Hoste says partnership agreements might be a next catalyst for the shares and reiterates its "accumulate" rating

** Umicore's shares sit at the top of Belgium's BEL 20 index .BFX and Europe-wide STOXX 600 .STOXX index
