FAA delaying flights at New York, Philadelphia airports WASHINGTON, July 27 (Reuters) - The Federal Aviation Administration said on Monday it is slowing flights into three New York City area and Philadelphia International airports due to severe weather and air traffic staffing shortages.
Staffing issues at New York Air Route Traffic Control Center are impacting flights at John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark Liberty International airports. FlightAware said between 15% to 20% of flights were delayed or canceled at the four airports.
